Fuyuan is the larget fishing base in Heilongjiang and
the main producing area of sturgeon, huso sturgeon and sa
lmon in China, of which the roe as a delicacy enjoys a hi
gh reputation in the international market. Besides, the
"raw fish" and "talaha" (roast fish)cooked by the natives
are only too delicious.
Whenever the fishing season comes, the river surface
is covered with masts and sails, and numerous boats seem
to be racing. The sight is really magnificent.
